There is ample use of marine oils, fish oils in the processing of leathers. Oils are usually introduced while the leather is in the wet state but some oils and waxes are applied on the dry leather for waterproofing and finishing effects. Animal and fish oils are widely used both in the raw state and treated to make those miscible with water.
